Cerveau Movement Week – Art Edition

Cerveau Movement Week (C.M.W) is a platform that brings together volunteers, creatives, young people, partners and community members through shared experiences, creativity and service.

The programme aims to strengthen connections, encourage creative expression and demonstrate the impact that can be created when people come together around a common purpose.

For its second edition, the Art Edition, C.M.W was made exceptionally possible through the collaboration and partnership of Faadiart, founded by Anna from Senegal.

Faadiart is an organisation and creative platform that supports individuals in expressing themselves through different forms of art, using creativity as a tool for connection, expression and personal development.

10TH AUGUST – SPECIAL WELCOME & VOLUNTEER CONNECT

We opened the week with our Volunteer Connect, our regular Friday gathering dedicated to connecting with our volunteers and participants.

It was a moment to introduce the programme, explain the activities planned for the week, share responsibilities and, most importantly, connect with one another before embarking on this special journey together.

Following the preparation and purchase of the materials needed for the activities, we were ready to begin.

13TH AUGUST – NYAMEDUA ORPHANAGE

On 13th August, we returned to one of the orphanages that holds a very special place in our hearts: Nyamedua. We were welcomed by the familiar faces of our little friends and their caregivers, and once again, we shared a truly special day together.

Through drawing, painting, dancing, games and simply spending time together, we created moments of joy, laughter and connection. It was a day filled with emotions, a reminder that sometimes the simplest moments can create the most meaningful memories.

14TH AUGUST – TESHIE ORPHANAGE HOME

On 14 August, we headed to our second orphanage, Teshie Orphanage Home, for another day dedicated to art, sharing and connection. This visit brought an unexpected and beautiful surprise. Two young international visitors who had originally come to visit the children decided to stay and spend the entire day with us.

Once again, the day was filled with laughter, creativity, games and unforgettable moments.

CLOSING THE WEEK – ART, MUSIC & CONNECTION

To close this beautiful week, we gathered once again for our final Volunteer Connect. This time, the tables were covered with blank sheets of paper, brushes and colours. With good music playing in the background, we invited everyone to take a moment to express their own vision of art.

For a few hours, we simply created. We forgot about our daily routines, put aside our responsibilities and allowed ourselves to enjoy the moment together. Around the table, we shared, painted, listened to music, laughed and reflected on some of the best moments of the week.

It was the perfect way to bring the Art Edition to an end; not only by creating art, but by creating memories together.

THE MAGIC OF SHARING

Cerveau Movement Week is more than a programme. It is about people, connection, creativity and community. It is about creating spaces where everyone can contribute, express themselves, learn from others and experience the simple but powerful impact of giving their time and energy. And once again, this edition reminded us that: The more we give, the more we receive.
