Sonne Scholarship Programme: Supporting Education, Building Futures

After several months of reviewing applications and receiving hundreds of submissions, it is finally time to move forward with the Sonne Scholarship Programme.

This Tuesday, 29 September, our team visited one of our favourite places, Nyamedua Orphanage, to launch the first phase of our support for its young residents by helping them start the new school year with greater peace of mind.

Over the past year, we have built a strong and meaningful relationship with Nyamedua Orphanage. Supporting the education of the children we have come to know and care about therefore felt like a natural step for us. This marks the first phase of the Sonne Scholarship Programme at Nyamedua, and we are proud to begin this journey by supporting the young residents as they start the new school year.

Supporting the New School Year

For this first phase, we are covering the school fees of all minor residents, as well as essential school-related expenses such as uniforms, books, and other required supplies. Through this support, we hope to give the children and their caregivers greater peace of mind, allowing them to begin the new academic year without the additional burden of worrying about school-related expenses. But our ambition goes beyond covering immediate costs.

Education is an important foundation for creating opportunities, building confidence, and preparing young people for their future. Through the Sonne Scholarship Programme, we hope to contribute not only to the children’s education today, but also to creating greater opportunities for them tomorrow.

And This Is Only the Beginning

This first phase focuses on the minor students of Nyamedua Orphanage, but we are not stopping here. The Sonne Scholarship Programme is designed to grow, and there is much more to come. We look forward to sharing the next steps of this journey and introducing you to the young people and communities who will benefit from the programme.
