October is finally here, and our team is ready to kick off a month filled with energy, meaningful initiatives, and, above all, a shared commitment to the fight against breast cancer.
At Cerveau Initiative, Pink October is much more than a campaign. It is an opportunity to raise awareness, bring communities together, support those affected by breast cancer, and turn solidarity into meaningful action.
Looking Back at an Inspiring 2025
Last year’s Pink October Together was filled with emotion, beautiful encounters, and impactful initiatives. From our Pink Walk in the Aburi Mountains to awareness campaigns in local markets and communities, every activity reminded us of the importance of coming together for this cause.
Among the highlights of 2025 were; The donation of 500 post-operative breast care kits to the Breast Cancer Unit at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. A dedicated wellness day for breast cancer survivors, offering a moment of relaxation, connection, and care. Our Close-Up event, where we provided free breast cancer screenings and check-ups, followed by an afternoon of dancing, painting, games, and shared experiences. Close-Up brought together our partners, service providers, volunteers, team members, friends, families, and patients in an atmosphere of joy, openness, and solidarity. These experiences strengthened our commitment and inspired us to continue doing more.
Pink October 2026: Going Further, Together
This year, we are renewing our commitment to the cause and taking our ambitions even further.
We are preparing a full programme of activities throughout October, combining community outreach, medical awareness, social engagement, partnerships, and online initiatives to reach an even wider audience.
We are starting the month with one of our most anticipated traditions, our Pink Walk in the Aburi Mountains; Walk for Someone
Beyond the walk itself, this year’s edition include a few surprises and opportunities to connect, raise awareness, and stand together in support of everyone affected by breast cancer. It is a moment to move together, share our energy, and remind ourselves that every step counts.
A New Space for the Breast Cancer Unit at Korle Bu
One of the major projects of Pink October Together 2026 will be the renovation of the office space at the Breast Cancer Unit of Korle Bu Hospital.
Building on our existing relationship, we wanted to go beyond and make a tangible contribution to the environment in which patients are welcomed and supported.
Our goal is to provide the unit with a more welcoming, comfortable, and warm space where patients can receive information, be accompanied by the medical team, and hear important news in better surroundings. We believe that the environment in which care is delivered matters. Through this project, we hope to contribute to a space that offers greater comfort, dignity, and reassurance to patients and their families.
Taking Free Breast Cancer Screenings to the Communities
Through our special Cerveau Truck, we are preparing to take our campaign directly to communities that may have limited access to health information and screening services. Together with our medical partners, we plan to visit Tema Station Market and Centrale University to offer free breast cancer screenings and awareness activities to local communities and young students. By bringing these services closer to people, we hope to encourage early detection, promote prevention, and make breast health information more accessible. Because awareness should not be limited to those who already have access to it.
Supporting Our NGO Partners and Community Initiatives
Pink October Together is also about collaboration. As part of our commitment to strengthening the NGO ecosystem, we will be joining the programmes and activities of our partner organisations throughout the month, providing support where needed and contributing to their initiatives.
From community activities to awareness programmes and shared events, we believe that working together allows us to reach more people and create a stronger collective impact.
Our programme will also extend online, with awareness content, updates, and opportunities for our wider community to participate and stay connected.
