On Friday, October 10, 2025, as part of our commitment to health and well-being, Cerveau Initiative conducted a breast cancer awareness campaign at Accra Central market. The goal of this campaign was to bring education, support, and hope to the very heart of the community, a place where people live, work, and meet.
Our team met with merchants, customers, and passersby to discuss the importance of early screening, regular breast exams, and the need to break the silence around breast cancer. We encouraged everyone to learn how to self-examine and recognize the warning signs.
The day was also marked by moments of sharing, laughter, and lots of dancing. In this friendly and caring atmosphere, we were able to break down myths surrounding breast cancer by fostering open and non-judgmental dialogue.
Thanks to this first awareness campaign, we were also able to collect the contact information of several women interested in benefiting from our free screenings, which will be offered at our major closing event on October 31.
Beyond raising awareness about breast cancer, this initiative also helped increase visibility for Cerveau Initiative and its missions to empower communities through health education, awareness raising, and improved access to care.
The campaign continues! Join us:
–October 18th for a Pink Walk in the Aburi Mountains
-October 31st for our closing event, featuring free screenings, awareness, interactive activities, and much more.
Together, let’s continue to act, raise awareness, and speak out, because early detection saves lives.
